Site acquired in July 2015 and planning consent secured for a new office building aimed at SMEs in the technology and creative media sectors.
The scheme provides 22,500 sq ft of offices with a prominent frontage to Whitechapel Road and close to Aldgate East and Whitechapel Crossrail stations. The site benefits from the ongoing infrastructure investment and the continued expansion of the Tech City hub. Completion is due in mid 2017.
Assam Place, 35 Commercial Road, E1
Planning consent secured for a new tower providing 350 highest quality student apartments and a 40,000 sq ft university building within a remodelled historic brewery. The scheme was completed in 2013.
Alternative Developments set up and implemented the marketing and leasing platform and fully let the student apartments in 12 weeks, producing a rent roll of £5.5 million in Year 1. We subsequently leased the entire campus, including the University building, to Hult International Business School. The asset was purchased by Greystar in May 2015 for circa £110 million.

Alternative Developments (in JV) purchased this site in October 2015. It occupies a strategic location on the eastern fringe of Tech City and the neighbourhood is experiencing significant regeneration.
The new scheme will provide 45,000 sq ft of modern tech style offices aimed at SMEs in the digital and creative media sectors.
